Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged graduates of New York University not to cocoon themselves in an ideological “bubble.”
Trudeau said in a commencement speech Wednesday that it’s far too easy to engage only with people with whom we agree.
He says the graduates should “let themselves be vulnerable to another point of view.” He says that diversity “can be our greatest strength.”
Trudeau also received an honorary doctorate during the rainy ceremony at Yankee Stadium.
Trudeau’s schedule later Wednesday includes meetings with the CEOs of Honeywell, PepsiCo and WeWork.
His three-day visit to New York and Boston will include a luncheon at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday and a conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday.
